Quincy Jones is an award-winning musician, band leader, composer, and music producer whose work has crossed many genres and decades. While he is known for having collaborated with hundreds of established musicians, he has never directly collaborated with the Monkees; however, in his role as a film composer, he released one soundtrack and accompanying single for the film In Cold Blood on the Monkees' label, Colgems Records, and later covered two of the Monkees' songs for the soundtrack of Cactus Flower on Bell Records.

Quincy Jones is not closely related to David Jones.
