"Laugh" is a track from the album More of the Monkees featuring lead vocals by Davy Jones. The song was written by four members of the doo-wop group The Tokens and produced by Jeff Barry. The Monkees version copies several aspects of the original version recorded by The Tokens
Its bubblegum pop is indicative of the direction Monkees music supervisor Don Kirshner wanted to take the group for their third single and album, which eventually led to a confrontation between Kirshner and band members over creative control of the Monkees' musical output.
